Overview of the Season
Cascade Effect was an FTC game that had robots collecting multi-sized balls and putting them into cylindrical tubes. In the autonomous mode, the teams robot drove down a ramp and placed a ball into a tube, drug the tube to a scoring zone, and released balls out of the center goal. In Teleop, the teams collected the balls and filled the tubes. For the end game, balls were placed into a goal 48″ high (robots are 18″) and parked in zones for points. During this season, the team grew and achieved more than the rookie season. The team competed in 2 events: Allendale Qualifier (first year we hosted this) and the Kentwood Qualifier. The team advanced to the State Championship, where they were finalists. The team advanced to the Super Regional in Iowa and places 4th in qualifications matches. They were selected by the #1 alliance as a first pick, but got eliminated in the Semi-Finals. The HexaSonics, for the second year, advanced to the World Championships in St. Louis.
